🎯 What Will We Learn Today?

Numbers come in two flavors: odd and even! Today we'll learn how to tell them apart and discover some cool patterns they make.

📚 What Are Even Numbers?

Even numbers can be split into two equal groups with nothing left over. They end in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.

  • 2: one pair ✨

  • 4: two pairs ✨✨

  • 6: three pairs ✨✨✨

  • 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20...

  • Think of it: Even numbers are like pairs of shoes — every shoe has a partner!

    📚 What Are Odd Numbers?

Odd numbers CANNOT be split into two equal groups — there's always one left over. They end in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.

  • 1: one alone 🧦

  • 3: one pair and one left over 🧦🧦

  • 5: two pairs and one left over 🧦🧦🧦

  • 7, 9, 11, 13, 15...

  • Think of it: Odd numbers are like socks — sometimes there's an unmatched one!

🎮 Quick Tricks to Tell Odd from Even

Trick 1 — Look at the last digit:
  • Ends in 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 → EVEN

  • Ends in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 → ODD

  • Trick 2 — Pair them up:
Try grouping dots into pairs. Any dot left over? Then it's odd!

    🧮 Odd and Even Patterns

    | Adding | Result |
    |--------|--------|
    | Even + Even | Even(2 + 4 = 6) |
    | Odd + Odd | Even(3 + 5 = 8) |
    | Even + Odd | Odd(4 + 3 = 7) |

    | Multiplying | Result |
    |------------|--------|
    | Even × Anything | Even(2 × 3 = 6) |
    | Odd × Odd | Odd(3 × 5 = 15) |
